Alessio Lisci: “You can’t do so much in a game and then concede three goals”
Osasuna overturned an early deficit with a Budimir brace, but a late goal from Pablo Durán left the home side empty-handed.
Club Atlético Osasuna (3-1-6, 10 points) overcame a 0-1 deficit, but couldn’t hold on to the lead as they fell 3-2 to Celta (1-7-2, 10 points) at El Sadar on Sunday night. Forward Ferran Jutglà scored the opening goal for the visitors, but in 10 minutes, forward Ante Budimir scored a brace to send Los Rojillos with the lead at halftime. However, in the second half, Jutglà and forward Pablo Durán handed their team the three points.
The match began at a high tempo from both sides. Osasuna created the first chances with long-range efforts from midfielder Rubén García and forward Víctor Muñoz. However, Jutglà put Celta in front in the 26th minute with a fine strike from the edge of the box. The home team responded with determination. Budimir equalized from the penalty spot after being fouled inside the area, then headed home a García corner just before halftime to make it 2–1.
In the second half, Osasuna looked to create danger through long spells of possession and patient buildup play. Jutglà leveled the score in the 68th minute with a header from a corner kick. Forward Raúl García had a good chance after a fine touch in the box, but goalkeeper Andrei Radu saved his angled shot. In the 76th minute, the referee awarded another penalty after defender Aidoo Jr. brought down defender Abel Bretones inside the area. Budimir took the kick, but his shot rattled off the crossbar. In the closing moments, Durán sealed Celta’s 3–2 victory with a deft chip over goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.
Osasuna’s next match will be against C.D. Sant Jordi in the first round of the Copa del Rey (Wednesday, Oct. 29, 7 p.m., Son Malferit).
